What is it?
Road Show is an annual job fair which brings top U.S. employers to Hong Kong to interview and hire WATUSA applicants for the upcoming summer holiday. Each student will be arranged to have an interview with representative(s) from one of the U.S. employers face to face. Job contracts will also be signed between the two parties at the spot.
Why is it called “Road Show”?
Road Show got its name because the American delegation is in fact traveling around the world as part of a worldwide recruitment campaign for the upcoming summer. And, Hong Kong is one of the many stops of their road trip.
When is it?
Mark it on your calendar! Road Show is scheduled to be held on 10 Feb 2009 (Tue) in Hong Kong.
Is it open to general public?
Road Show is not open to public. In order to attend it, you must have an invitation… sorry!
Who get to attend it?
Road Show is only open to students who have applied for the WATUSA 2009 program and passed the selection prior to the date of the Road Show.
Is there any limit on number of students invited to Road Show?
Yes, that is why you are encouraged to apply for the program and secure your seat as soon as possible. In
vitations will be sent out on a first-come-first-serve basis.
What if I am invited but not available that day?
Road Show is held annually and is also the only job fair we organize for WATUSA applicants. Anyone who misses the Road Show, regardless of reasons, will not be offered another interview opportunity with the employer. They have to wait for the new batch of job openings that will be released later on.
How likely is it to secure a job if I miss the Road Show?
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee. The number of jobs available to applicants is definitely a lot smaller after Road Show. And, based on past experience, there were students whom we could not offer a job at the end and had to offer them full refund of program fee.
